Julie Lence's ability to build tension kept me turning the pages... Victoria Roder, Author

Forced to flee his home in Chicago, Gage Cantrell shed his greenhorn ways and joined an outlaw band. He's spent the last six years dodging bullets and a Pinkerton determined to bring him to justice. Now that Gage has settled for a spell in Revolving Point, Texas, hoping to win the heart of the woman he loves, his past is about to catch up to him. Trouble is, Debra doesn't know about Chicago. If she'll forgive his cowardice on that fateful night, he'll finally know peace. That is if he can thwart the Pinkerton and send him packing--for good.

Raised in the St. Louis orphanage, Debra Moore has known more hard times than good. Riding with her brother and Gage as they raided the west brought about a longing for a real home, and for Gage to return her love. She's found a comfortable haven in Revolving Point and wants Gage to cease to his bandit ways and put down roots with her. But Gage has never been the settling type, and lately he's been more secretive than usual. Something's bothering him. She's going to find out what that something is and convince him there's more to life than the tomfoolery of outrunning a posse.

Julie writes Western Historical Romance. Her stories bring to life the code of ethics cowboys lived by and the dangers outlaws defied living by their guns. Often outspoken and temperamental, with their own sense of humor, Julie’s heroes share a common trait―the willingness to surrender his heart to the right woman and earn her love for eternity.

Julie was born and raised in upstate New York. She married her high school
sweetheart and accompanied him on his twenty-year career with the United States Air Force. Currently, she makes her home in the Pikes Peak region, where she is a stay-at-home mom enjoying a career writing western historical romance.

In the late 80's, a friend introduced Julie to the romance genre. She was instantly hooked, and credits Johanna Lindsey's addictive and endearing Malory family and Judith McNaught's flawless voice as inspirations to pen her own novels. Combining her fondness for horses, John Wayne's cowboy persona, and the television show, Dallas, she settled into writing western historical romance early in her career.

Julie self-publishes her work on Amazon. She also designs her own covers and blogs monthly at Cowboy Kisses blogspot. When not writing, she enjoys taking care of her family and home, exploring the Rocky Mountains and meeting fans of the romance genre.
We meet new characters and are reintroduced to some from the previous two books. This book didn't fail to  catch your interest with the story and the characters.  A book that will having you hoping that true love will win in the end.   I found Gage a little bit of a grouch.  Even when he rode as an outlaw, he was bull headed, especially about Tom Porter.   Gage had these secrets that he was trying to hide while he wanted desperately to settle down.   But before he can he must come to grips with that secret and come clean with Debra.    He hopes to win Debra's heart but that past is standing in the way.   If Debra finds out about what happened in Chicago and what Gage is hiding, can she forgive him?  He still has that Pinkerton on his back.   What will he do about that?    Debra wants Gage to settle down and join her in making a home and possibly a family.   But we have a man who isn't used to settling in one place.  She has to convince him that the posse and the Pinkerton will eventually catch up to him.  There's nothing better to get away from everyday's hectic ways than to take up a book and read about the outlaws and how their women tried so hard to tame them.  But deep inside they will always be cowboys, always.  Some will be convinced to settle down and some will remain outlaws.  What will Gage do?  Can Debra be the woman to tame him?   Debra was a strong woman. She had to be to survive the ole' west.  She knew what she wanted and she stubbornly went after it.   All of Ms. Lence's books give you love, romance, hope for the future, those outlaws you have to love and those strong women who try to tame them.  When you read the author's books, you can escape back to the days of the ole' west and be alongside the outlaws and their women. I hope there is another book on the way because I have been hooked from the first one. Don't let this one get away!
I received a copy of this book from the author, Julie Lence and voluntarily decided to review it.
I would give this book 5 SOLID STARS.
