One ingredient that is one of the most used but most overlooked is eggs.  The book has wonderful illustrations and some information about the background of eggs.
This would be a perfect book for beginners.  The authors show how to make hard boiled/scrambled/poached/fried eggs and so much more.  I didn't know that there is a difference in how many ounces in a large egg and a jumbo egg.   The authors wrote in simple terms that made the recipes easy to understand.
I liked the fact that the cookbook was divided into morning, afternoon and night with sections on sweets and snacks.   The recipes are such that you can add your own ingredients for a little variation.
Eggs are an ingredient that every person can easily use in their preparations of their favorite dishes.  When you think of eggs, you think of fried, hard boiled, scrambled and maybe poached.  This book gives so many variations of using eggs. This would make a nice house warming or wedding gift.  Something different and useful.  Another very useful item in the book is a conversion chart on the last page.

I received a complimentary copy of THE PERFECT EGG from the authors, Teri Lyn Fisher and Jenny Park along with Blogging For Books for my view of the book.

I would give this book 4 EGGS.
