FROM SMITH PUBLICITY
EMMY AWARD WINNING NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT
CANDIDLY SHARES THE EXPERIENCES THAT MADE HER INTO A PERCEPTIVE AND REVERED NEWSWOMAN.

Hattie Kauffman has interviewed president, Oscar winners, astronauts, and Olympians.  She's covered wild fires and murder trials and delved into personal interest stories.  She's won four Emmy awards.  After more than two decades as a national correspondent for CBS News, and before that for ABC.  Kauffman has penned a memoir that will touch your heart.  She covers her own story.  And she does it fearlessly.
From the humble beginnings to the bright lights of network television, Kauffman weaves a story both heartbreaking and redemptive in her new memoir, FALLING INTO PLACE: A MEMOIR OF OVERCOMING.  Nationally recognized for her high profile interviews and coverage of disasters and triumphs that affected millions, Kauffman candidly share the experiences that made her into a perceptive and award winning newswoman.
In this beautifully  written memoir, you'll get an inside look into the events tat shaped the remarkable woman who thought she's left the ghosts of childhood behind.  But when her world came crashing down one autumn day, she was forced to face all she had been running from.  What she learned about herself surprised her.
Says anchor for INSIDE EDITION and NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Deborah Norville, "Hattie Kauffman is determined, focused, and a gifted reporter and storyteller.  Now I know where she gets it from.  Hattie's story of how she 'made it' is the quintessential American success story, only Hattie's childhood was so impoverished she couldn't afford the bootstraps to pull herself up with.:"
"Stunned by my impending divorce,""Kauffman says, "I was slow to acknowledge my own feelings, which in their way, demand to be known.  Gradually, I realized that I was feeling a sensation of the ground beneath my feet suddenly becoming unstable and dangerous.  It was a feeling I'd felt before, a remnant of my childhood.  With that recognition I began to allow myself to recall those years of hunger and fright and finally found the courage to tell my story."

Biography

Hattie Kauffman Long time network news correspondent Hattie Kauffman is the author of Falling Into Place, her griping memoir of a Native American woman who thought she'd left her childhood ghosts behind until she is forced to face all that she's been running from.
After reaching the heights of success as a television anchorwoman and news correspondent, today Hattie is a frequent speaker and is busy at work on her second book.
A member of the Nez Perce Tribe, Hattie is the first Native American to ever file a report on a national network news broadcast.

MY VIEW
The story is both heart breaking and inspiring.  A true story of rags to riches mixed with personal rejections and a sense of being broken..  It is a story of self discovery.  It's a story of going through what has worth in your life and what doesn't.  Deciding what is your true meaning of living.
The author mixes together parts of her childhood along with her life today.  She lived a impoverished life, parents that were never around.  The older siblings took care of the younger ones.  That had to be hard on everyone.
The true blessing in her life was that she had the courage to overcome the bad things and make something of her life.
Marriage was sacred to her, But one day her husband declared he didn't want to be with her anymore.  Hattie's poor life overturned.   I found this story had a lot of things in it that would fit into a lot of other people's lives.  It was more realistic that way.  She didn't let the painful divorce overcome her.  She found peace and grace in the loving arms of God.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is having a difficult time in their life.  You may find that God will inspire you.  You can turn things around with the grace of God.
If you wonder if God cares. really cares, or if He even exists, you might want to read this book.  You may find some answers you've been looking for.

I was given a  complimentary copy of FALLING INTO PLACE by Hattie  Kauffman  from Smith Publicity Group for my view of the book.  No  other compensation took place.
I would give the book 4 STARS.
