EXCERPT
(from PUYB)

“When bound by religion, one cannot draw boundaries to the path to heaven.”
“Stop hurling religion like a hunter throws raw meat to a beast.  Before you enter the path to heaven, what about the hell you have created for hundreds of men and women on this earth?  Which religion would endorse your actions?”
“You live in a chasm between heaven and hell.  You and your whole lot.  To me, there is nothing between heaven and hell.  And I can turn that HELL into HEAVEN.  This is why I cannot leave religion alone.  It is what makes me what I am.”

REVIEW
This story was an all too real story.  The author told a quite honest tale of the mix of human trafficking and terrorism.  I can't imagine the fear and the way your mind would slowly change into the kidnapper's way of thinking.  It's a horror that in our society, this should not happen.  But as we all know, it happens everyday, right here in the US.  We only think of this kind of thing happening abroad, but we need to wake up and face the fact, it's here, right where we live.
The character, Usman uses the poor, uneducated as his recruits and trainees for missionary work to carry out  mass destruction. Tina Matthew, a student from the US, gets caught up in this madman's fanatical religion. She finds out what isn't learned in the classroom and that is the religious righteousness, violence and mind manipulation that is used in the human trafficking. These people are brain washed into the beliefs of the fanatic.  Most become followers and spreaders of the terror and horror of the trafficking business.  That's exactly what it is, a business.  I find it so sad that we as human beings, who should care about our fellow man, especially women and children and vulnerable, that we don't.  We are a selfish society.  Out for ourselves and whatever it takes to get what we want.

I am so glad that this author chose to write about this horrible issue. I believe her main message is HOPE! (QUOTE): “The basic message of the novel seems to me to be one of hope.  Hope that these terrible actions can be better understood and better dealt with; hope that better understanding and education will lead to fewer of these events in the future; and finally, hope that with better tools and ideas there will be fewer people drawn to these perverse and distorted perspectives that are so appealing to those who are the unwitting pawns in games neither of their understanding nor their choosing.” (end of quote) We as people, tend to shy away from the awful, horrid things that take place against our fellow man.  We shut our eyes to these things, When we should have awareness and ways to prevent and stop these horrific acts.  I would recommend this book to everyone.  It might be an eye opener as to some of the things going on right under our noses.  Maybe just one reader will wake up and help with finding a solution to this horrible life these victims have to live.

I'd like to thank the author for bring the reader's attention to this delicate subject.

I was given a complimentary copy of ANOTHER HEAVEN by Annu Subramanian from Pump Up Your Book Publicity Tours for my view of the book.  No other compensation took place.

I would give this book 4 STARS!
