OVERVIEW
(from Amazon)
Whether it was the war you'd loved or the war you loved to hate, the Nam wasn't over when it was over. Lt. Adrian Pokorny and Sgt. Paul Murphy learned that lesson over 40 years of silent struggle back in The World after serving in the mountains of I Corps with the 101st Airborne Division. They were the only survivors in a separated element of Pokorny's platoon in the summer of 1970 after a firefight in a no-name village. What they craved was a shot at redemption.
REVIEW
This novel, WAR WITHOUT END, AMEN is a gripping intense novel.  It is the story of Vietnam, the combat and  the aftermath. Sgt. Paul Murphy comes back from the war to face the never ending haunting memories of the battles.  He tries to face the demons head on.  The author wrote in very detailed descriptions of the combats and what it did to the soldiers, not only their bodies, but their souls. hearts, and minds. The story is told 40 years after the Vietnam War.  As you read it, tears will form in your eyes and your heart.  The  deaths, the fear, the heroism, sounds and smells forever stay in the veteran's mind.  These are memories that aren't forgotten.  This doesn't just apply to the Viet Nam War but every war and every veteran. Some have a much harder time than others.
In the mind of Sgt. Paul Murphy the memories of the war are there everyday.  The war is still going on even though it ended in 1975. Murphy's point man, who was only 18 didn't come home alive.  But Mr. Coder developed a character , the ghost of the point man, that Murphy could speak to.  Somebody that had been there, shared the trenches and became friends.  The kind of friends you knew without a doubt, had your back.  The ghost began to ask Murphy about the war and this made Murphy live the war all over again.  After a while Murphy knew he must face the terrible day when the nightmare began in a small village in Vietnam. In war there is no difference in the enemies and the innocent villagers..  In the face of war, sometimes they're all the same.   ENEMIES. What was this war all about?  What did the sacrifices solve? How much sacrifice  is enough? Every soldier that enters into war is a hero.  They lay their lives down for all of us. They do this for love of their country and to keep America safe and free. I would recommend this book to anyone.  Although it's fiction, the author, Mr. Coder wrote it so well, it was as if you were there on the battlefield with them.  All the Paul Murphy's in the world - you are all heroes. Another nice feature of the book is there is a glossary of words in the back. Mr. Coder wrote an astounding historical fiction story for us that will live on in our memories for a long time. Thank you Mr. Coder for sharing your talents with us.  Keep Writing.

I  gave this book 5 STARS.
