The first in a new series about 14-year-old Priscilla Pomeroy, who has the ability to see angels hidden among us, as well as the blue door that leads to the spiritual/heavenly realms. As we meet her and other characters, including behind-the-scenes angels, we learn that there is a reason Prissy can see these things, and she is a key player in a spiritual war unfolding around her.
THE BLUE DOOR is Book One in The Threshold Series. The main character is Prissie. She's a special 15 year old who can communicate and see all types of angels. Prissie comes from a large family with five brothers and they live on a farm. Prissie brothers are being difficult and her best friend lives miles away and is acting rather odd. The only thing that she looks forward to each day is to get the mail from Milo, who just happens to be her friend. Lately Prissie has started feeling odd around Milo.
As she makes her way to the mailbox, she notices a young boy in a tree. He tells her his name is Koki. They begin talking and he tells her something that will change Prissie's world completely. He is an Observer sent by God to keep an eye on Prissie. Prissie soon discovers that Milo is an angel that is also keeping watch over her. Her feelings toward Milo change. She doesn't understand why she needs protection. She also doesn't understand why all of a sudden she can see angels. She soon learns that she can also see things like THE BLUE DOOR, which is a threshold that lead to places that Prissie never ever thought existed. Is Prissie's new ability a blessing or will it end up being a bad thing? She is so confused. She just doesn't understand why she is different. She wishes she could just go back to her uncomplicated life. Maybe the angels will help her. The author put in angels, demons, strange warfare and an interesting, mysterious blue door. This opens up the imaginations of the young readers and lets them feel. Young readers can let their imaginations soar and become part off a mystical adventure. The reader will also enjoy the battle that is about to erupt.
From the moment you open the book, you are captivated. You are brought into Prissie's life, with the possibility of angels keeping watch on you. This book is about one girl's life in a much bigger world. There is a much valued lesson in this book. That is: God Loves You. A world should didn't know existed. I would recommend this wonderful book to anyone. You don't have to be a certain age to enjoy a little get away time. The book is wonderful for the young and the young at heart too. Grab a copy and enter the world of Prissie and her new found angel friends. Don't forget Book Two is next, THE HIDDEN DEEP.
ADVENTURE BEGINS AT THE DOORWAY.....
The doorknob shone like a luminous crystal. Flashes of different colors lurked beneath its smooth surface. When she took hold, it hummed beneath her palm, sending an almost musical note through her body, right down to the soles of her feet. (from back cover)
I would give this book 4 STARS.
I was given a complimentary copy of THE BLUE DOOR from the author, Christa Kinde for my unbiased view.
Behind the scenes, her many talents include dish-washing, laundry-sorting, and the weaving polysyllabic words into everyday conversation. First to know, last to tell, happy to try, and always true. A plotter and a plodder, a dabbler and a devotee. Weaknesses include bright colors, crazy socks, and alliteration. More to the point, I spend my days planning studies, plotting stories, and putting my nose to the proverbial grindstone ... because as much as I loves writing, it's work. Finding the perfect word, turning a phrase so it sparkles, giving a plot just a bit of a twist - they're worth every iota of effort. I'm delighted to have discovered what I want to do when I grow up!
Head in the clouds. Feet on the ground. Heart in the story. Christa Kinde is a cheerful homebody whose imagination takes her to new places with every passing day. Making her home between misty mornings and brimming bookshelves in Southern California, she keeps her lively family close and her trusty laptop closer. Christa has been writing for more than a decade, producing numerous workbooks and study guides for Max Lucado, John MacArthur, and Women of Faith.
