OVERVIEW (from Goodreads)
Greed and lies bound them together, but will the truth tear their love apart?

When Elena Bardot suffers the backlash of a Ponzi scheme orchestrated by her father, she retreats to the abandoned estate of his partners in crime. Wolfe Manor is lush and private, a perfect place to lick her wounds – until the notorious prodigal son returns. Disgraced billionaire Alex Wolfe is aloof, imposing, and sexy as hell. Elena knows she shouldn’t want him, but attraction overrules her head.

Life behind bars has changed Alex. He doesn’t have time for the complication of a gorgeous little brunette – especially one with her name – but the tension between them escalates. Lust overwhelms their resistance, and the sex is hot and cathartic. They’ve both been betrayed by family, hurt by society, and cast as villains. Alone together, they take solace in slow kisses and sensual nights. Yet while Elena may be content to hide from the world, Alex is driven to reclaim his place on top of it. This time, he’s determined to take her with him.

REVIEW
I have never read any of Ms. Dean's books, but this one didn't disappoint.  The author wrote a beautiful romance that held on to you from page one until the end.  The descriptions of the settings and the characters were so true to life that you actually think you are living this along with the characters. The author gave us the privilege to follow along while Elena and Alex fall gently into a romantic relationship. They both know they shouldn't but the desire was overwhelming.
Elena's father and Alex's grandfather had put together a Ponzi Scheme that hurt a lot of people, that included Elena and Alex. They both try to avoid the desire that was pulling them together but eventually  they  find the solace in each other and allowing the truths about each other come to light. You can't but help to like and feel for both Elena and Alex.  You wanted so badly to help them overcome the obstacles that seem to be in front of them no matter what. The book had plenty of sex scenes but not too many.  The author did a wonderful job of spacing them throughout the story. The relationship they had was sensual, erotic,  and yet held gentleness.  The author didn't make it a  torrid affair but a gentle, warm love relationship.  Oh, there was plenty of heat between the two but it was paced in the right amount.SOLACE IN SCANDAL combined just the right amount of sex within a well written story line. You start with page one and before you know it, you're done.  You have turned those pages and lost track of time. Will their love out stand the truth of the greed and lies that are tying them together.?In our minds, I believe Elena and Alex will be the SOLACE IN SCANDAL for a while to come.  They are memorable. I feel this author will be on my reader's list.  She didn't disappoint.

I would give this book 4 STARS.

I received the e-book of SOLACE IN SCANDAL  in a contest by the author, Kimberly Dean.  This review is entirely my own unbiased review.

Thanks for the review, Gayle. I'm glad you liked the story. It's interesting that you commented on the setting. As I wrote the story, the setting became more and more important to the point that it felt like another character.
