THE LIGHT BEHIND BLUE CIRCLES by Robert Louis Demayo

THE LIGHT BEHIND BLUE CIRCLES                     4.5 STARS
by Robert Louis De Mayo

OVERVIEW (FROM AMAZON)
The Light Behind Blue Circles tells of a young man’s 3,000-mile journey from South Africa to Kenya and chronicles an inner transformation that encompasses more than the hero’s own soul. Even as a boy Peter was enchanted with the African bush he had been introduced to by his South African parents. On a camping trip with his father, a veterinarian, he meets Lekai, a young Maasai seer-to-be, who asks for their help in saving a dear friend. But the rescue mission turns to tragedy when an evil man crosses their path in the bush. Ten years later, Peter remains plagued by the events of that tragic day. Estranged from his father, he tries to hide from his nightmares by working in the dangerous gold mines of South Africa. After narrowly surviving a cave-in, he decides to travel north, beginning a 3,000-mile journey to Maasailand, the place where his lurid visions originate. On his travels he meets devoted new friends, encounters bitter enemies, and experiences hair-raising adventures. He also embarks on a mystical journey into the very core of his existence, desperately trying to prove to himself that he can still make room in his heart for love. From Victoria Falls at night during a lunar rainbow to the great African savanna stampeding with wildebeest to the evocative Serengeti with Mt. Kilimanjaro rising up with the dawn, The Light Behind Blue Circles captures some of Africa’s most iconic scenery.

REVIEW:
I found this book to be an enjoyable and wonderful read The adventure is a humorous and scary journey through Africa.  The author definitely did a lot of research about the Maasai people in East Africa. This is quite a page turner for not only young readers but readers of any age.  The author puts a lot of historical fact, a little wonderment, and a lot of adventure into this wonderful story.  The beginning is Peter with his father on safari in the Serengeti. Peter goes through life  changing events.  A few years later we meet up with Peter to solve the mystery of the light behind the blue circles.  I found that if you look with open eyes you will find that the people and places have a beauty about them.  I feel this should be read by all.  A wonderful story that allows you to embark on a journey to Africa  by the way of the book and your imagination. An informative, descriptive, adventurous magical read.  Don't miss out on this one.  It may be your only chance to travel to Africa.

I would give this book 4.5 STARS.

I received a complimentary copy of the book, THE LIGHT BEHIND THE BLUE CIRCLES from the author Robert Louis DeMayo for this unbiased review.
